I have seen black and cad played fresh air box clips. My parts car was black and the LE cars were black and cad. What was the original finish on a 74 car?

Either one, same old story. Depended on what was on the shelf at the time.

probably correct.
i left some photos and comments in originality section where @TonyA also posted.
the clips etc on mine are original and i believe its oxidised cadmium plating.
looks similar to how my front strut mounting plates are these days 50 years on.
silver with white oxidation spots.
but i can remember they were cadmium back in 89 when i got the car.

mines a 74 1.8 late jan build so its only a few weeks before LE production started.
i left some other photos from Ljet research of other months production. seems like they are also all oxidised cadmium if i had to call it.

Got them in chromate individually and in kits. I can check my LE tomorrow, but thought it was the gold cad.
