Hello World....so with spring car cleaning getting up and going I am spraying lubrication wherever I can and I always wish I had some of those trunk bolts that have the Zerk fittings cut into them....but I haven't seen any for years and don't know where to get any...does anyone know of a source? The concept really rings a bell with me as I have repaired my trunk hinges in the past and don't want to do it again....real quality grease sounds like a superior option than spray on lubes so if anyone has an idea of where to get these items please do tell!! Thank you very much!!

Interesting idea (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)
I was recently toying with the idea of having a thin walled Oilite bushing between the hinge and shoulder bolt (requires modification obviously). |

I recalled Perry mentioning he had made them in the past.
I looked at making them but its pretty fiddly work & the end cost for a pair seemed too high ... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) |

I goggled zerk fitting bolt and got several hits, not sure of the size, but many came up related to casters and trailer parts…. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

I'm pretty sure these were available back in the dawn of time. 40 years ago? Sold by PB Tweeks, or Automotion or someone. I kinda suspect I have a set somewhere; never to be found.

Well thank you gents and I meant to say rear trunk hinge bolt....I feel we are getting close and someone will find these or make these for us....let's not give up yet !! So many guys here on the site make their own parts someone will step up....not for the money but for being of service to our wonderful community.....add a few bucks for the effort and it quite possibly could add up to being a worthwhile project....we shall see in a couple of days or so....I am feeling it !!!

Thats the ticket!
You want to also provide a shallow groove at the drill point on the shoulder |

FYI, I am in for a set of these. Someone will have to confirm bolt size, thread count and pitch…..
Thank you to all involved. |

FYI, I am in for a set of these. Someone will have to confirm bolt size, thread count and pitch….. Thank you to all involved. Those are made from the factory hinge pivot bolt, so they will definitely fit. Clay Thank you (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) |
