That pedal stop is just riveted to the board. It does not hold the board down. Did you remove the left side hold down Allen bolt? It looks the same as the right side. The carpet might be hiding it.

There's a couple of bolts on each end of the pedal board holding the board to the chassis. That riveted piece is to limit how far the accelerator can be pressed. Once the bolts are out, you have to shimmy the board around the brake and clutch pedals.

It may help too to remove the 2 bolts holding the accelerator pedal to the floor.

even your pedal board has been frankenstiened mate and given a club foot.
a PO has arsed about the hold down clips.
that one should be on gas pedal side.
and the other one on clutch pedal side.
it should wind out i believe.

its been 30 odd years since i dealt with a left hand drive one so forgive me,
got a right hand drive 914. a bit different.

but that one has been farked with.

or are those photos back to front or something?

I removed one allen bolt and two 10mm nuts is there another allen I missed behind the accelerator pedal? I just pushed the carpet out of the way maybe I missed it? the bracket that I think is suppose to be with the switch was just laying there on the floor..

ah yeah. those photos are back to front. somehow.

there should be a hold down fitting off to the right of that gas pedal stop.
or your tangled up in carpet. its a bit of a wriggle job to get the board out.
helps to take the rubber pads off the pedals to do the extraction.

pop the gas pedal off its little ball fitting and rod. get it out of the way if you have not already done so.

good luck. all part of the fun. i notice you have a console in the car. thats probably in the way too. i have a little bin type console. i always have to take it out first to go for pedal board surgery. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

That picture is making my head hurt. How does a photo get mirrored like that? A negative I understand. A digital picture (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

it really bamboozled me as i drive a RHD 914.
i wondered what the fark i was looking at for a minute.
had someone literally done a mirror rhd conversion with gas pedal in middle of car.
that would be a first and really weird to drive. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

Would be unique experience for sure.

Like a vintage Indian motorcycle with left hand throttle or Norton with the shifter on the right and inverted 1 up, 3 down. Have to constantly think about what you’re doing. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/screwy.gif)

that's the clutch pedal hard stop.

when you finally get the board loose, take the rubber covers off of the brake and clutch and it'll make it easier to wiggle the board out.

IIRC or don't recall correctly, isn't this switch on the master cylinder under the car chassis?

I think there are two switches one on the master and one under the brake pedal I thought I'd start there for the no brake light situation..bulbs are good fuses are good
