Should have posted this sooner.

The annual Put in Bay Vintage Car race is scheduled for Sept 17th thru the 19th 2024. The featured marque this year is Porsche. As this is a temporary course the airport is closed to make up a tight compact course favoring small bore cars. They use both the runways and taxiways. It is held on South Bass Island in Lake Erie and a ferry takes you from the mainland to South Bass running every half hour. Their website is:

https://millerferry.com/

There is a Street Car division which allows non race cars to take to the track at lunch time of the two days of competition, run 9/10's as you please and no passing. Additionally, there is a run of the "Old Course" running the island roads at a fast pace. Finally there is a car show as well.

At last count there is 15 914's registered for both the Race and Street car divisions and I'm aware of at least 3 more cars yet to be registered.

There is no charge for spectators.

Its a hoot for sure. This event almost coincides with Teenerfest so I split my time between the two. Last Year Teenerfest and this year the PIB Race.

Jeez, that thing leans like a Taurus! I hope I can keep up with him not that he has a real sway bar.
PIB should be a blast!
