There is a big hole in the driver's side sheet metal of my engine compartment ('73 2.0), towards the front. It is approximately 40mm in diameter, and inboard from the drain hole.

What is it for? And, does anyone sell a plug to fill it? I don't remember a similar hole on my old '73 1.7. And, I don't want to leave such a big hole open, so I need a plug -- I can make one if needed, but I'd rather get the correct part if possible.

Here's a pic from the underside. The hole in question is the top-most, just under the rubber engine gasket.
