Unbelievable, thats the car from the hagerty commercial "why i drive ..."

Very unique car from my point of view since it features fender flares only on rear and vent holes in the rear deck lid ...

I'm in NE Pasadena/Altadena right at the genesis of the Eaton Fire. We are mere blocks from Eaton Canyon. I'll get right to it and say somehow the house and 914 survived. ...

Well after an extremely stressful experience with the Palisades Fire my family was miraculously spared for the most part. Our home is miles from the fire however we are in an extreme fire hazard area with nothing but dry brush in between us and the flames we could see from our front yard for 3-4 days. Our power was shutoff by SCE for ~4 days which was super fun (not).

My wife grew up in the Palisades and her parents' house, which we're in the process of inheriting and selling, is there... thankfully spared though there's devastation all around. Her sister also lives nearby in the Highlands but her place was spared as well.

Unfortunately though my wife's office for the past 20 years has been right at Sunset & Via de la Paz where nearly everything is GONE. Starbucks, restaurants, supermarket, barber shop, gas stations, clothing shops - totally leveled. Her building is still standing but remains inaccessible at this point and we believe it will be unusable for quite a long time if not condemned, so her business is hosed. She's got a small satellite office closer to home but Pali was the core business.

View out from her parking spot under the building -- a police escort brought her in to retrieve costly critical/perishable supplies. This is a frame from an unbelievable video she took on the way there... you've probably seen others on Youtube. Just wild. My heart goes out to those who lost everything in this mess.

FYI - PCH drive-thru of the Palisades Fire burn area. Not necessarily advisable for the faint of heart. My wife and I went Saturday to retrieve a few things from her office and pick up a car that had to be left behind in the Palisades during evacuations. On the bright side, the car seems fine other than nasty ash residue & smell.

As you may know, I don't talk a whole lot in general, but I was literally speechless for quite a while after seeing this as well as parts of the actual Palisades. It's much, much worse in person...

Freaky, like we see with tornadoes. Whole path of destruction, then houses in the middle without a scratch...
