Hey guys, what was the factory finish of the 8mm trunk and hood bolts. The bolts that mount to the hinge.I know what 911's did but what was factory original on the 914-6? Yellow zinc or silver/clear zinc or painted? Thanks, -Scott

I vaguely recall something about the hood/frunk hinge bolts being painted body colour and the trunk hinge bolts being yellow chromate, but I could be wrong…

Photos I've seen of so called original cars are all over the place so I'm going to go painted front and rear with the bolts and change out later if It's proven different. Easy enough to change later. 69-73 911 if you're interested were Silver/clear zinc bolts on front hood with a black oxide spit ring washer and yellow zinc bolts and hardware for rear engine lid. Thanks, -Scott

I have a set of NOS hinge bolts in the bag that are a light yellow cad.

The plating is 40 years old so its likely faded over time but that is the correct finish.
