It looks like a stock exit single muffler converted to a sport muffler. It will work, but you will need to remove the rear valance. Or buy a fiberglass one with no exits and cut out your own. Note.. These are really loud. I installed one on my car and when I backed out of the garage it sounded like someone was banging a hammer on my Neighbors garage across the street. They weren't very happy. I went for a drive, came home, removed it and sold it.

Yeah, that would be pretty loud. If that is OK with you as well as modifying a rear valance, then OK. If not, clean up the welds, blast, paint it and sell it in our Classifieds. Plenty of people (mostly young) want a loud exhaust. I had one of those on my 2nd 914-6 in the mid-eighties... neighbors were not pleased. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Thank you all for the great information. I am 72 and have to wear hearing aids due to loud noises in my younger days. Don't want to lose what hearing I have left using a loud muffler. I think I will only use this when I start up the rebuilt engine (unless I find a nice stock muffler). I have an original snowplow valance that I want to use eventually with a stock muffler.
Also, would it be possible to cut off the two pipes, weld up the holes, and weld on an original tail pipe. I have access to a tube fabricating business that could make the tail pipe, and they have expert welders. ![]() |

I would sell and buy what you want. The insides were usually cut up to flow into both tail pipes.
Even with your access to shop fabrication, the juice isn’t worth the squeeze. |

Wow, that is a great illustration. I will definitely find a stock muffler to use and sell the modified one.
Thank you |
