Can I work backwards from the taillight wires and thread the snorkel up to the firewall? I think I can clear the major wires but the larger end of the snorkel would need to be pushed through the hole in the engine shelf. My car is a six with numerous mods to the harness. I'll do it right one day when I strip the car for a repaint, installing a new harness, but for now I need to find a simple solution.
If it's not possible to do this from the rear, what alternative have folks used to protect the harness wires in this location? Thanks, John Attached image(s) ![]() |

its a bear with fresh rubber, after feeding all wires in, generous amount of glycerine to force into firewall. CSOB version: slit the snorkel down the middle, encase loom. Wrap with quality heat resistant, waterproof tape. Good luck!

My snorkel was cracked & torn and it glued back very nicely. |

That may be the ticket BillC. I'm not eager to pull all the rear wires to snake this through. It looks like a nasty project.

Yes, pulling the wiring from the rear of the car back into the engine compartment is a bear of a job.
But do it RIGHT. Take your time, pull the wiring back to the engine compartment, and feed it through the snorkel. Tape the wire into a tapered bundle, and lots of silicone spray make it easier. But it will never be an easy job. But it is worth it. I am doing it on my big six right now. And I am adding in all the wiring for the new MS3Pro ecu. That makes the bundle quite a bit bigger. I don't think I can cram anything else in there. Good luck. |

Pulling the harness from the rear is easier if I recall. There are less ends and plugs that have to be disassembled. I had to do this on my six conversion as the wiring was a mess. Funny part is, I SHOULD have bought a new snorkel! Old one was really nice so I didn't even think about a new one.
