How tall is the lift? I only have 9' ceiling

They are the right height for a 9 foot ceiling. They were literally made for lower residential garages.

You will want a low rolling chair. The lifts only go up about 4 feet.

I can lift my 914 or 911 about 3 ft off the ground before they hit the garage door opener.

I did have a scare the other day with my 911 on the lift. Opened the door and it only opened partially then stopped. I realized I had the engine lid up and the opener arm hit the lid and stopped the opener. Luckily the arm hit the rubber part of the whale tail and did no damage. What a dipshit.

When you replace your garage door opener you might want to consider a wall mounted unit. They attach to the torsion bar & are super easy to install. Chamberlain makes them & they're about $500. Scroll down to the third row in the link below.

For my garage I took the motor and chain drive out. That bay door is manual now.
The 914 could go all the way up the lift without hitting, but pretty much nothing else could.
