So I recently read that Willow Springs raceway was on the block & a PE company was or had purchased the storied track.
I was reminiscing to 05 when Howard & team hosted the WCR at "Streets" & had to be one of THE BEST WCR events ever.
Its been 20 years, (wow!) I was thinking to both honor Howards memory & perhaps visiting a driving venue that may not be here much longer might be pretty cool ?
It seems the community hasn't had a large gathering, like that, in a long while & seems to be fragmenting into smaller regional gatherings ...(IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Was that the same one that Joe Sharpe hosted? I was at that one. I was just getting into the 914 scene then.

We had 31 cars and about 60 people at the last WCR in Socal that Oscar hosted.
Working to make this a great event. Would be good to meet you Rich. Come on down.
You might win the iron butt award for greatest attentee who drove the farthest to the event.

Hi Bruce, Oscar, and all my 914 buddies......

Glad to hear WCR is going to happen.....

Bruce/Oscar..... thanks for taking this on!

It's been awhile since I've been on 914 World.

I do hope to attend as I'm sure it will be another fun event with our 914 clan.

I'm sorta at the mercy of my surgeon as I must have BOTH of my knees replaced (one at a time) and not sure when that surgery date will be and the recovery time. Not looking forward to that at all! UGH!

But if I can make it, I'll be there so put me down as a maybe. I'll go ahead and book a room just in case.

Sure do miss you guys!

Cheers!

Update....

Bruce, Matt (914Rubber), and I are working out WCR2025 schedule. Thank you to the many volunteers who have stepped up. Once we lock down some details we will post them for all to see. Plus one's are encouraged to join. We are doing our part to plan around SoCal traffic.

Strong motivation to get my rig back on the road. Hope to be there. I will commute every day as it’s right down the freeway.

I’ll register once my car is running. Thanks Bruce and Oscar for organizing!!

I would really like to attend this also but like already mentioned my car is still not passing California smog yet ( unfortunately its a 76) I hope to have it on the road by the time of this event but like others will wait to make sure before registering .I am also located locally so would drive to the events . I have been on a three year journey to get my car on the road ,I am getting close but still not quite there yet. I will be sending my throttle body to Mark Kinnaman next month for rebuild once he returns from Florida. I hope this solves my high idle and gives me time to take some long drives so I can feel confident on the thr great rides being planned for this event . I have been wanting to attend a WCR since 2022 maybe this will be the year. I am also retired so maybe possible to help out somehow . I am a good volunteer.

Come even if your car is not ready. You can go of the shop tour and drive in what ever you have. Just be at the back of the pack so we can get good groups shots with the drone.

You running a 2.0? I may have a good throttle body for you.
Call me i think you have my number. If not message me and I will send it.

We can use volunteers. Taking names and will request help as the plans develope.

All ready.
