Matt I was at Skytop while the whole NEG 6 group was at Dawe Motorsport.
I thought some participants would be chilling at the event hotel while others
did the afternoon drive. Little did I know everyone was a short drive away.
The sky was getting dark with plenty of thunder.
I had a very nice 180 mile round trip visit to the beautiful Poconos.
The car ran great and I got home by 4:15
I've known Peter for decades.

On our way up to Skytop Lodge, we met other 914 owners at Tony's shop for a caravan there. Here's the group before we got on the road:

Unfortunately, we had one casualty on the way up there, but it turned out to be a fairly easy fix -- coil wire pulled out of the ring terminal on the coil.

After Dawes, we had a slight schedule change, and went for group pictures on the mountain top first:

Afterward, we headed for the restaurant for lunch. On the way there, we crossed back over (through?) the covered bridge:

After lunch, we broke off from the group and headed back to the hotel. On the way back, we stopped at this weird little used-car lot to investigate a 914 most of us saw on our way to the hotel.

It turned out to be a sad little '74 1.8 that was just rusting away, sitting there. The door gaps had closed completely on both sides, so the poor thing has probably reached the parts-car stage. No idea what they wanted for it, since they were closed.

Sorry I didn't make it this year. I'm working in Ligonier there are some beautiful roads here. Have you ever thought about running down the Hwy 30? I'm not from this area but it's very nice here in Ligonier and Latrobe.
