Traveling Wed 9/10 & Thurs 9/11. Of the two routes to Durango, CO, one goes through Salt Lake City. So, maybe we will see each other on the road, if not, then in Durango.

Because we are towing the 914, we are limited to 55 MPH. So, not planning to caravan with everyone as not to slow everyone down. See you soon.

Getting excited (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) We are splitting the drive up over two days. Wednesday we’ll probably stop in Flagstaff for the night then make the final push Thursday.

Well, we're committed but both days are predicted to be soggy. Cold front moves through. Not sure if the routes are affected by heavy rain, maybe we luck out. I don't mind driving in the wet, but heavy thunderstorms and possibly hail? Fingers crossed!

Just an FYI here that if anyone needs to get under their car to work on it I have a four post lift that you are welcome to use. I am located a few miles North of the Caboose Motel right on US 550.

Nothing is worse that lying under a car with 4" ground clearance trying to work on it.

Text me if you need anything.

Hopefully these will be classic short Colorado showers.
Regardless, bring your beer holder mittens. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer3.gif)

Hello! Please let us know if you have to cancel your Caboose reservation. A couple other folks will swoop in to reserve after you cancel. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Well kids I'm out. I pushed this as far as I could. But at 3:00 am when I discovered the base coat the paint store sold me was defective that was it. The car looks like a sheet of 80 grit sand paper. No kidding. My only option is the sand this crap off and start over. Based on the amount of time I spent so far this morning that is 12-14 hrs of work before I get back to paint. On a lighter note, I drove the car to the gas station and back. It is a scary Alien!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/alien914.jpg)

Rick, if it's running, I doubt if anyone would care how it looks just as long as you're rolling!

I started to say the same thing - but Rick is a paint and body guy and demands perfection.

In my opinion, once people see a 928 engine in a 914 they won't see anything else.
