1970 model as that was supplied by seller with VIN number ,checks out.
Semi setup for 350 Chevy but not much to work with...should you proceed that way ?,
930 wheels , and front end conversion also from that model ,stock rear brakes , trans supplied (901 tailshift ) matted to the Chevy .
Key points from the seller were rather sparse;
Rusty in places but not real bad (opinion) in this case,
steel flares on but only tacked on with spot welds ,hard to see that from pic ,
not one pic of the underside ,but the interior floor looked ok under all the mess.
was supplied with a heap of parts ,many from a second car parted out,
Chevy is apparently unknown history but and presents well ,
no rego in my country so a real hassle ,
front panel chewed up with holes !! .
Only for the distant and freight cost for in-op I might have has keen.
Comments would be interesting ,this car sold for $3510 NZD .

its amazing what hangs out hiding in NZ.

have you left a number out of that price?
seriously. was it just 3.5K NZ $?
in aus that would be 35K, rust and all!
they would not get it, but they would ask for it!

i went and looked at a 74 1.8 for sale here in melbourne, north antarctica.
not that i wanted it. just interested to compare it to mine.
they were asking a few cents under 50K aus.
it wasn't a bad car. not sure if its sold. think it might be for sale.
but $ are still high to get hold of one.

makes me glad i was a arrogant dickhead 29 year old back in 89 telling everyone to get farked, they wouldn't know, when i bought my 914. (ie rejecting opinion it was a bad car and not a real porsche.)
def could not get into one now.

taking mine out tomorrow for a post election morning blast.
right now sitting back with a beer watching the federal election unfold.

hope the outcome does not upset 914 values. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
not that i am selling.
too into driving. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Wheels look nice and worth a portion of the ask. Same with flairs

The long fabrication in the passenger well right front scares me. Much potential for bad f**kery there

Big time suck project anyway you look at it.

Agree with the wheels. 930 wheels are 7in and 9in. The rears don't look like 9in but the picture may be misleading. $500/wheel makes the purchase worth the price.

The passenger wheel well work might be for coolant lines for the V8.

Problems here is the transport costs have risen steeply ,I moved my 73 roller from the mid north island to a ferry to the top of our south island where I live ,that was back on 2015 I payed $1000 @ the time ,that would be the best part of $2500 now easily.
Transport company's have faced a rise in fuel costs coupled with paying long haul drivers more as there was a shortage as wages were very poor so basically not much more than our minimum wage ,that has now changed .
The industry had cut rate operators but they have been swallowed up by the biggest operator called Vehicle Movements who seem to now rule the industry .
As this vehicle has no previous registration in our country it would need some proof of origin before you can even look @ compliance which because of the government rules is a rather expensive process ,in this case with the cars modified condition that would increase cost further .
Parts are in very short supply also ,I bought in all my parts in when the dollar was strong against the US .
Appears the seller had done his research and just wanted it gone ? as the PO how did most of the previous work found out.
Cheers.

yes the proof of origin applies in australia too.
and can stop you ever getting a car on the road.

i did mine the proper way. proof of purchase in USA and also extended ownership in USA really helped. along with title of course and invoices. if i remember correctly this even gave me some concessions in terms of ADR compliance. but not the big concession unfortunately of having to be RHD. hence conversion.

i guess if someone wanted to build a track car, this one you have posted could well be a very good buy.
