@bdstone...use the Red Solo cups, and display a T4 brown-plastic (tool) bag with screwdrivers, hub cap puller and a rubber band>> give those judges a fun day !

I competed nationally with my 67 GT500 for years, BTDT and have the T-shirt! Was a challenge and have a room full of trophies and awards (dust collectors). NEVER AGAIN!
Attached Image I would love to attend, good luck and have fun Clay!

@ClayPerrine just wash, drive + arrive...have fun !
My 1st (and last entered) POC concourse over at former Ontario Motor Speedway 1975. Entered in the modified Street driven class with my 1974 2.0L turbo. Also had the 5 bolt upgraded F+ R suspension, and a set of polished 6x15"s Fuchs (Robert Wood Wheels). Took 2nd place , as they deducted points for exhaust carbon inside the 2½" tailpipe (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

You nailed it ! Backstory : another club member entered his white 1974 2L appearance-group car into same judged class. His wife was one of the judges as well...connect the dots (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
Would have been disappointed with this malarky...but the auto-X the day before at OMS was So good, and the crowds around our car made for a Fun weekend.

The 4 cyl tools would not be correct for a six.
But maybe tattered tool bag with Harbor Freight cheapest tools, cresent wrench. Dirty shop towel in place of the Porsche towel. And a claw hammer

I actually have the factory tool kit for the six. It will go in the car and the spare parts, like the clutch and accelerator cables will come out. I know I am going to get dinged for the LED lights, but I don't care. That's a safety issue.

We won the 914 class in the concour!

There were two other 914s there. So it wasn't a participation trophy.

bring it by and I will help you prep it

QUOTE(ClayPerrine @ May 9 2025, 12:13 PM) *

Last night I received a text message from the PCA Maverick Region president. It seems they are holding a concour a week from Sunday, and Bill Kruder asked me if I would enter Elwood, the factory six. He is a really nice person, and a 914 owner, so we said OK. We suspect that they didn't have any 914s entered. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Honestly, we are both of the opinion we would rather drive the car than spend time cleaning a car up for a concour. So we get to spend time next week cleaning up and washing the car. I even had to order new glass to replace the broken one in the right hand mirror.

Anyone have any tips and tricks for concour prep?

Well done Clay! You and Betty can now scratch that experience off your 914 bucket list! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cheer.gif) I did the same several years ago, and never again, as I maintain Mistress as a driver!
