914-6, 1970 - all stock
All, I just rebuilt the distro in this car, one of the videos I watched the tech used a Sun distro tester. ![]() The testing procedure was to take advance and I believe dwell measurements through the typical RPM range -in both directions - to measure the springs/weights, etc.... This process is new to me, I have always set the dwell and then timing, how important is this dynamic process? We have one of those machines. My buddy knows how to use it but it’s in storage now. When you rebuild a distro - do you consider this level of assessment? We don’t generally rebuild them. It has been useful to check functionality. We bought a pms 12 lead dizzy and the advance is messed up. Verified on the sun machine. |
