I've been thinking about this lately too as I have a ~23 yr old steel Carson twin axle open rig that needs tires & rehab - has been sitting stored/unused since 2018. It worked out really well for me but definitely is heavy and ugly as open trailers go. It looks like trailer tires went WAY up (just like car tires) and I don't really know the condition of its brakes and suspension. My current plan if/when I ease back into track stuff is a U-haul but if I ever get to be a 'regular' again I would love an enclosed rig.

On a separate note my old beater workhorse F150 needs replacing soon too. Torn re going with an HD truck or another F150 but I'm inclined to go bigger.
