Works great in driving rain storms or really cold days. Also great when you want to hear all the little things your engine is up to.

The original owner of my car put this in many many years ago.

That's probably better than I envisioned.. he actually trimmed it in brightwork! So, it's glass or plexi? Harder to do in glass I'd think. Either way - it boosts the cool factor in my opinion (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif)

It's all glass. Yeah, I need to replace that engine lid gasket but it doesn't stop me from driving it, so it is very very low on the to do list. Besides, the cracks let me wire my Walmart brake light without cutting anything.

Wonkipop, what is that from?

Le Mans. Steve the Machine slides the rear window shut on the 917 just before all hell breaks loose. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

start of the race sequence.
sliding rear window probably to vent the cabin given that sunroof masquerading as a windscreen. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

I guess the rest of the weirdness distracts people from the glass. I will be there for the gandprix, doing the Porsche laps and such.

I’ve thought about how to insulate the glass to quiet down the interior noise

Laminated glass reduced NVH

Proper fitting seals on windows and top will do more for you than the glass

Same for having a constrained layer damping material (ie Dynamat) on the bulkhead and a proper interior backpad
