As the title says… I only see new at AA for $537 or NOS on eBay for $500… Is that all there is? The Bosch FI specialist working on my car says the plastic part is somewhat loose inside the metal part and could lead to a fuel leak…

Just bypass it. It only works to add fuel when the temp is at 32 degrees F outside or below. If you live in Germany or Northern Europe, then you probably need it to work, especially in Summer ! If you live in the USA, then not so much.

Check the dealerships and Rose Passion. Or find used.

OK, thanks for the answers guys. The valve probably works, I was just worried about a possible leak as indicated by my mechanic. I didn't realize that it was only activated when starting up in at or below freezing temperatures. Unlilely that I'm going to start and drive the car in 0°C weather, that usually rhymes with possible salt on the roads here.
So I guess one possibility as mentioned above would be to remove it, block off the opening and cap the fuel hose that goes to it? Otherwise, I was leery of buying used or even NOS parts, and I haven't found a new one on this side of the pond from my usual suppliers, including Rose Passion etc. I will check with the Porsche dealers here next week. The repurposed normal injector idea looks fun... I think my FI guy who is a bit of a purist would hit the ceiling... |

You don’t need to remove the cold start valve itself. Just re-plumb the fuel line to bypass the cold start valve and leave the valve attached to the intake plenum.

Yep. Of all the cool bits on the djet, that one is really only for us cold area people. And most of us stop driving it then to avoid the salt anyway. For most people it's a fuel leak waiting to happen.
