We are the 2nd owner of this great running car, since the fall of 2015. The original owner received it when she graduated from college. We are retiring to FL and do not have enough garage space to store inside the garage. That is the only reason we are selling.
This car was totally dissassembled, every part sandblasted if necessary, epoxy primed, and repainted. All mechanical work and reassembly done by Brad Mayeur and Mike Hanson of 914 Ltd. It does not use or drip oil!! You may e-mail Brad Mayeur if technical details are needed. A factory installed front and rear sway bar is a very unique feature on this 1.7 car. Fuel system has the stock fuel injection system. Ignition is now electronic. Fuchs rims, Michilien Defender 195/R15 tires. Odometer shows 89,000. This is a reliable car, you may choose to fly into Peoria International Airport (PIA) and drive it home to California or wherever. Currently located in Central Illinois between Peoria and Galesburg. Note the pictures under the car--it was mostly like that in 2016! Very clean and tight. Mike fixed the infamous "hell hole" and the jack lift points with new metal as needed. One spot of rust on the lower rear left quarter panel that I may get around to, as a result of not properly painting the interior of the left rear quarter panel. That interior spot was re-painted several years ago and sealed. There is also one tiny "dink" in the hood from the gas cap not being installed correctly before closing the hood. $38,000 cash or you arrange for shipping after check clears. Additional photos are available. 309-696-7989 talk2jim1826@gmail.com Attached thumbnail(s) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Attached File(s) ![]() |

I will post the photos of the car when we took purchased it in 2015. It was in a barn in Central IL.
A photo from the Tale of the Dragon Trip (the second Dragon trip for this car) taken in Sept. 2021. We drove from Central IL to the Dragon, on to Virginia Beach to see our daughter & family, then back to IL. This was a great trip and the car performed beautifully. This 914 is completely restored and ready to give thousands of miles of enjoyment with minimal repairs. A 914 or any 50 year old car that has not been meticulously maintained or properly restored will not be an enjoyable ride unless you have above average mechanical skills or have a qualified repair shop that has (the seemingly now rare interest) in properly repairing your old car. These repairs are also very much more expensive. This 914 is a bargain for someone wanting a "turn key" vintage air cooled Porsche. These early 911, 912 and 914 are the best experience of the unfiltered driving fun that is no longer available in modern cars. Its a truly great experience. Brad Mayeur, 50+ year Porsche enthusiast and former air cooled Porsche shop owner. |
