Old downtown Snohomish is cool and Cat House is even cooler.

Only one more week. I worked on rerouting our drive on Sunday since a truck wiped out the bridge we needed to cross between Buckley and Enumclaw. Found a cool road on the map, but it turned out to be gravel with a GATE! Guess that won't work. I'll be at Carillon Point this Sunday with both of my cars. Come out and say hello

Here's an update on the weekend's activities. You don't need to drive your 914 to come along. Again, if you don't want to use Motorsportreg to register, just contact me and I'll add you to the list.

Bring your 914 out for the weekend and hang out with other Teener over the 9/14 weekend. You'll receive directions for a Gimmick Rally that leaves One Drivers Club, 7310 185th Ave NE, Redmond at NOON on Saturday (after the 70th anniversary party for PCA) that will lead you to Snohomish for a pizza dinner. You'll need a passenger to help you complete the quiz questions along the route. If you don't have someone to ride along, just driving the tour will be fun too. We'll end the tour at Cat House Pizza and plan to eat around 4:00. You should turn in your completed rally questioner then for judging.
On Sunday you'll be treated to a pancake breakfast at Majectic View Estates Community Center 302 Beckett Lane SW, Orting. There's parking both in front of the building and on the street. We'll announce the winner of the Rally and while your eating, you'll hear a presentation from Chris Baker (Tigaboy) as he tells us about his Ferrari engined 914 build. After the program, there will be time for him to answer your questions and then you'll get directions for a fun tour on Hwy 410 to Lake Tipsoo and then over Chinook Pass to Naches where we'll stop for lunch. At that Point you may take several routes back home or join us on a drive to WA 821, The Canyon Road to Yakima.
If you'd like to just sign up for the breakfast on Sunday please send me an email so I know to have enough food. wmshott@gmail.com
Julie and I are planning to spend the night in Ellensburg at the Hotel Windrow. The prices are very reasonable and the rooms are very nice. There's plenty of places to grab dinner within walking distance and after a long day of driving it’s nice to relax. Hope that some of you will join us.

Thanks for asking. 8:30. That gives us time to hear from Chris and get on the road early enough to be in Naches around lunch.

Saturday weather looks decent, Sunday might be a sprinkle or two. Should be a great event.

Is there a head-count of how many people have registered? Especially curious about the headcount for Sunday since the location is further away.

hoping the weather forecast is wrong about the rain. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Just 5 of us. I know that one won’t make the full drive on Sunday. Might have one more that will join the parade. I thought more folks would sign up, but I guess they have other plans.

No worries there Robert, I don't drive like that on streets. Michelle and I are all about the good company and journey.

Weather is looking worse for Sunday by the minute. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)
I don't mind a few sprinkles, but if it's raining pretty good come Sunday morning I might have to sit this one out.

.25" total for the day in Orting, over by noon
.15" total for Naches over by 11:am
Looks like we'll be diving in clouds rather than a down pour
But who knows

Fine with me, everything in our 914 works so let it rain if it must.

Hi Billy, I may just be out of the loop but I didn't know the weekend plans were puiblished here, perhaps others missed it as well. I'd been waiting to see something on the Teener Tuesday thread and actually didn't know it was here. I wish I'd tried to contact you sooner, it sounds like a blast. It's been too long since I met a bunch of you years ago in Gig Harbor. . . 17 years or so . . .. it had been off the road for 14 but lives again . . . hopefully next time. Thanks for all your efforts on behalf of the group.

We only have a few brave souls to drive up Mt Rainier in the rain but the weather gods were kind to us and it dried up when we started going down the pass on the eastern side. The canyon road drive was beautiful this time of the year and the two s hook buses that were in front of us were kind enough to pull out of the way. The breakfast with Chris was great and it was like being in the shop with him. Julie and I plan to do another breakfast with an “internet” guest soon. I’m already working on a list of people and shops that we’d like to connect with.

Thanks for putting together another great event @PanelBilly and Julie! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_pokal.gif)

The scavenger hunt/gimmick rally yesterday was great, breakfast and the video call with @tygaboy was fun(thanks Chris! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) ), and the drive to Naches and back today was beautiful despite some rain and light smoke. I discovered that the southern 6 miles of Hwy 123 were open from 12 right up to the park entrance for Stevens Canyon. Incredible views, and well worth the extra time detouring around Rimrock Lake. Sorry to @jcambo7 for ditching last minute. That RV was driving me nuts! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/fighting19.gif)

Spaced on pics yesterday, but here's a small photodump from today:

Way to slog thru the moisture guys! Proof that 914s don’t melt in the rain. Nice pics.

Both days were a hoot! Billy and Julie did such a great job planning out the drives and places to eat. Our 914 did exceptionally well. The little CIS 2.7 averaged about 27.6mpg, never missed a beat.

Really nice to connect with teeners I haven't seen in years and meet a few new folks.

Oh, starting the day Saturday with the Porsche 70th B-Day was also fun. Mostly newer stuff. Did see one 356 that hid way in the back.
