The only thing I can add is the photo in post #1 with the empty socket - that has only two wires; that is the socket for the door buzzer / ignition key buzzer. Definitely not the turn signal flasher relay.

Hello Everyone

Well, my life has finally settled down enough for me to start working on my 914.

I've moved to Florida, so if there are any members in the Sebring area I would very much like to chat.

Wrestling with my turn signals at the moment.

A few of you were kind enough to mention I need to replace the relay I had with an EP26 LED compatible relay.

I've removed the relay (attached) and the car still starts and the turn signals still do not work.

Can I buy this relay at O'Reilly's?

If so, can anyone send a link please?

Thanks

About the relay you showed with the numbers 25230-89902 on the side, there are a couple of references to that relay as a Nissan 25230-89902 Relay-Starter:

Nissan 25230-89902 Relay-Starter

And here on ebay:

NISSAN DATSUN STARTER RELAY 1970’s - 1980’s MODELS NOS (p/n 25230-89902)

This relay is definitely not a Porsche OEM part. You'd have to follow whatever wires were connected to it to find out what it was attempting to do. Maybe the previous owner was trying to use this for a flasher relay? Not sure.
