Nose job in process. Someone who, IMO, didn't know what they were doing did some nasty stuff to this car.

That is certainly scary, seeing additional points in the video, It must have been a very flexy flier. I'm not sure how it drove in a straight line let alone with some serious loading in turns. The geometry must have been constantly changing.

I think it's called PFAS (Passive Front Axle Steering)

I don't know how that car went down the road without the front end twisting like a pretzel. Amazing work going on at The Red Barn, as always. Very cool that Chris has got Greg working with him. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Extremely scary to see that modified cars like these are actually on the road (referring to the front body strength, or non-existance thereof). (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

Clearly it is in great hands to bring it to the standard it deserves. Love watching the fabrication process. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/first.gif)

As for the headlights, seems like a no brainer in all aspects (location, height, fit). Reminded me of this look, close body color too.

Mansour Ojjeh's / Porsche factory 'Sonderwunsch built 935/street version. He actually sold it off many years ago at auction.
He was a Big part of the Porsche TaG Heuer F1 effort.

Fitting the replacement section of the tower crossbar and an early look at the removable upper section of the engine cover. It's coming along nicely.

If this project was any cooler when you weld your argon would come out a liquid.
A really nice solution to a giant hole problem. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

@Shivers - Thanks for the kind words. And I think I've stumbled into a "dream owner/customer" situation. He'll call and basically say, "Just do what you'd do if it were your car." He wants to get the car to the next level, too. Half the time I'm telling him to hold on, let's address the Must Fix stuff before we get too distracted but what else we could do... It's crazy. And to frost the cake, he's a really good guy.

Let's get back to some cool fab. Here's the removable engine cover coming together.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/popcorn[1].gif) Nice work addressing the seat brackets. That front brake line set-up is very scary. Glad you caught that mess.

Great work, that front panel will surely look great once installed!

Brake lines... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif) On that, isn't the line drop from the firewall to the tee an air bubble trap at the high point? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

@Montreal914 - I've never had an issues bleeding hydraulic lines that have a high spot. I have spots on my LS car where both rear brake lines and the hydraulic clutch line go up/down and they all work fine.

The deeper I go, the more hackery reveals itself. For those who may not know, the joint at the header/exhaust pipe should at least look like the builder considered how air actually flows.
But I suppose I'll have to them a few Style Points for the angle match between the exhaust and the engine mount. And yes, it's the same on the other side - so MatchyMatch points, too! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif)

I always enjoy Chris' videos. The skills demonstrated for all to see are amazing. It certainly appears Greg is cut from the same cloth too. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

The cross bar is in, the framework for the removable covers is in. Almost finished back here. Greg is doing a great job and I suspect we'll be partnering up on future projects, too.
And it turns out that VHT Epoxy Paint is a great match for years-old powder coat! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif)

Let's fix that hole in the rear of the trunk. The ribs were sourced from a factory trunk panel. This piece will be butt welded and metal finished so should look really nice. And it looks like the panel to the right will be modified and included as part of the removable section that runs from the trans mount cross bar, above the trans then up as part of the fire wall.

Hey Chris, absolutely love your workmanship and vids; stupid question time; the panel just forward of the trunk latch: isn't this where the chassis vin # is located? Are you going to transfer the vin or .....?? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

@T.Rick6 Hi Todd - Thanks for the kind words. The chassis VIN is stamped at the top of the passenger fender and that's still there. No identifying marks on that nose panel.
