Fear not for the owners pocket book. With very rare exception, I don't take on paid work. I much prefer just helping friends. Though I didn't know the owner at first, that's the case with this car, I'm donating my time because I want to see this thing made right. Plus, I get to experience one of my all-time favorite 914s without buying it! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
And Greg is giving him a bro deal so he's paying ~1/3 of current shop rates with me for $0.00/hr. Under current ownership, this car will see only street use. The owner has yet to do more than drive it off the trailer. Once he gets it back - and assuming he likes it - I'm encouraging him to take it to the next level: LS/Boxster S trans. At that point, I'd also push for the upgraded trailing arms, etc. I'll keep you posted as I learn more about where this build ends up going. |
