I'm restoring [or should I say, trying to restore] a 1972 914 with a 1974 2.0 engine that has dellorto carbs on it. As some of my posts have indicated, it needs about everything except a new body [Honest, it has no rust.] The car is originally from CA. Here in Maine, there aren't any stores or shops I can just walk in and see a bunch of 914s or 914 parts. I'm headed out to the SF, San Jose area in a week, and may have some time to look around. Any suggestions where I can drop in? Thanks

If you want to walk in and see a bunch of 914 parts, go see Rich Bontempi at High-Performance House.

I second Chris' idea, go see Rich and bring some cash, you're bound to see something you need or want.

Rich's yard is the big 914 source in N Cal - over 400 cars? I get a kick out of seeing what Brad has his hands on as well. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ar15.gif)

I got stuck in one of the NE blizzards, and my stay in the Bay area was cut short. Had not time to take time to visit any 914 places. Its still below freezing up here in Maine. Too much salt on the road to drive my 914 and its too cold in my garage to work on it.

Maine914, You should try to get to Mark's place for the 914 tech, it should be pretty good. The more 914 guys we get the better it'll be.
