So....MPS is solved for now - next!

Digging around today, I found that my (as suspected) firewall bushing was in 3 pieces.
So...I'd prefer to go the Tangerine route along with doing all the other bushings.

I know the instructions say that a right-angle drill is needed for the install with the engine in - any tips?
Other ways?

I don't have a right angle drill - any input on maybe a good adapter for my current "standard" drill?

I'll probably go full-boat with the Tangerine system from the firewall back - cuz while i'm in there.....

thanks!

Are you referring to the bushing for the shift rod as it passes through the firewall?

Several of your local Chinese tool stores sell an angle adapter for a regular drill. $15.00. Should work for one hole. Or get an angle drill for $44.00.

...and then you have a new small hammer when you're done.

Yeah, it's a PITA to get a regular drill in there for the three holes (I did mine with the engine out). But for three holes, the HammerFreight tool will work and be a lot less stress:

And that bearing is worth the extra $20 (assuming you don't have a coupon)

Milwaukee right angle adapter is 20 bux at home depot. Got me out of a few tight jams on my 914s.

Perfect. Thanks folks.
Actually looking forward to this - I suspected that bushing was out or well on its way.

Going all-in with Tangerine parts will transform your car.
I did it with the six (firewall bushing, rod and modification at the gearbox).
Feels a little heavier, but really accurate.
