another trustworthy 914/6 example.
GT recently for auction on BAT. completely unmolested and in highly original condition. original paint - only mechanically maintained and recommissioned. has the vent covers. which kind of surprised me because i would have thought porsche would have removed them looking for every gram they could lightening the car. but. ![]() ![]() its very hard to locate reasonably trustworthy 6s that are well documented in order to verify what is suggested in the parts catalogue. nearly all have been restored and repainted. likely losing the vent covers for full bare metal restorations and repaints? but it would seem that the 6s got the vent screens in the door recess - and its highly probable that only the early 4s did not have them. and as to what happens to later 4s in terms of market country differences you would need to locate enough trustworthy original examples of ROW cars to know for sure. but there appears to be a suggestion that some specs and markets maybe did not get them - though in the case of the USA market i feel its pretty definite that all the USA cars got them post 72. |
