Does anyone know what the line item charge was for the Pepita inserts back in 1970. I have seen it also referred to as Hounds Tooth Check Fabric. Would be great if someone had a window stick with this option!

@JeffBowlsby has some info on it in the fabrics section of his website.

https://bowlsby.net/914/Classic/PaintFabrics.htm

porsche called it dogs tooth.
looks like a no extra cost choice on 914/6.
but extra cost option on 4 and limited to only with other option of metallic paint.

if you go to jeff's window sticker bill of sale page he has a 70 with option ticked for metallic paint. $95 so you had to pay that much at least to open the door to dogs tooth. i don't know if you had pay further for the fabric or you just got it if you wanted it to go with metallic paint. doesn't look like they charged extra for it on the 6 so maybe you just got it for no further cost than metallic paint option on 4.

Looks like it was free with the metallic paint option or on a 914-6 but was an extra charge with std. paint on 914-4. So that is my question, does anyone know what that $ charge was in 1970 for the dog tooth check fabric inserts?

fine print says you could only get it with the metallic paint option ticked on the 4. its a no no can have at all with standard paint. the 4 is called type 914 on these charts.
if its a 6 is called 914/6. see the two columns headings.

its standard on a 6. you just choose it. no extra charge. on all 6s, standard paint or otherwise.
all you paid extra for on those was if you went for leather and not leatherette.

cost is i think harder to know with the 4.
because just having dogs tooth inserts was not a possibility.
they are saying you could only have it with metallic paint. its got an asterix as well as 01.
its part of a combined option pairing package on a 4.

which model did you want to know about? 4 or 6.
if its a 6 you got the answer. $0.00 charge.

mike

don't have any sales print outs for 70 models.
all my files are for L jets. 74 on.
but i do have this detailed one for a tourist ordered 74.
explains the black squares with an S beside them on the fabric chart for 70 that came from jeff's website.
shows the corduroy option/choice had been ticked. was no charge.
but you did have to tick and order one.
standard fare was all leatherette unless you indicated one of the other standard choices.
this is one of those black square w/S scenarios.

was how it would have worked with the 914/6 back in 70 with its three possibilities.
leatherette or corduroy or dogs tooth. you just had to say which one you wanted.

sometimes on BAT if you search the 70s models you might see a window printout with the documentation. but it will be a rare 914/4 that shows up for sale that had metallic paint originally. let alone dogs tooth. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) i have not noticed many 70s on BAT researching the 74 L jets. the only stuff i have seen is the examples that jeff bowlsby has filed.
