I am an old fart. I like chrome bumpers on an early car. Putting black bumpers on an early car makes it look like an late 75&76 car with the black rubba bumpers . My 2 cents worth .... I'm an old fart too... But not too averse from trying some new stuff. If it isn't a nice change, the original chrome bumpers can be put back on easily. Correct me if I am wrong, but the black bumpers were standard in Europe (at least on the early models?), the chrome ones were part of an extra appearance package. I think all of the USA market cars (up to '74) however came with chrome as standard. The chrome bumpers were part of the appearance group package, also added the vinyl to the roll bar. My car sold in the US was a non appearance group, no vinyl, no chrome bumpers. ![]() |

I think all of the USA market cars (up to '74) however came with chrome as standard. you could consider using a satin black wrap, or yellow, which ever you think you wnat to try first, if you dont like it peal it off, easier than removing paint. if you like it you can make it permanent with paint later.
