So the horn on my new ( to me) 914 doesn’t work. Pulled the 911 horn pad off just now and as you can see, the brown wire is taped off. Wondering why. But at least I know why we have no sound. Where’s it supposed to attach?

You’re grounding the circuit when that wire makes contact with the wheel, when depressing the horn pad. There should be a male tab on the back of the horn pad, to connect the wire to. Many of the tabs are broken off. |

the lead does NOT go through the hole in the steering wheel!!

I’m wondering if it’s at all because the PO installed a 911 horn button on the 914 wheel.
