The oil strainer should be cleaned at least annually. Surprising how much sludge it captures.

Who all runs a screen with a tuna can?
I started to mod a screen but gave up because of the extended pick up with the tuna can |

I run a tuna can without a screen. A good oil filter is all that is needed.

I don't run a screen with my tuna can either.
I had one ready to go - you do have to enlarge the center hole of the screen - but just decided against it. i have zero leaks and do not mess with that bolt. Maybe every 4-5th oil change? Maybe. |

I do run the screen. It gave the pickup tube something to bear against instead of just sitting suspended.
