Is the U-shaped bracket for the turn signals (914-631-215-10) originally painted or plated? Poking around for the part number online, I'm seeing gold, silver, and black. Ours have too much crap on them to tell what they were originally. Thanks.

I have found later cars to have clear (silver ) plating. The plating does not hold up well in the wheel wells.
Paint them if you want them to last. I have a few pairs is plated ones.
