Hi.. what does the brain trust think about gel batteries? Are they the cure for acid spill into hell hole? Are they dependable for the cost?

I put Interstate AGM Group 5 batteries in both of my 914s. Stock looking, they fit perfectly using the stock hold-down plate and were reasonably priced at Costco. Working perfectly at 3 and 4 years old.

I went with Optima seven years ago. Very happy. But also moved the battery to the trunk. Best, MarkAttached Image

I switched to an Optima battery a number of years ago. My 1st yellow top lasted 11yrs before I had to replace it. 2nd one lasted under 2. Now on my 3rd as I warrantied the 2nd one. I may look into Odyssey batteries or now Interstate which I didn't know made AGM flat plate batteries at a decent cost.
