I did a search but didn't find a definitive answer. I'm wondering if the door glass from a 74 impact door is the same as the door glass from a 73 non-impact door. I understand that the doors use different mechanisms for winding the windows but I'd like to know if the glass is the same such that I can transfer the glass from a 74 parts car into 73 doors...

Early 73's may or may not have same glass. As long as they BOTH have scissor lifts they will interchange

Early 73 without the reinforcement do use the same glass. I just took apart a pair. The ony early part is the aluminum post but it has the fuzzy channel for the late windows

So, to clarify, even if the 73 door doesn't use the scissor mechanism the glass is the same? Sorry if that's a silly question. I haven't touched the innards of the doors yet and so know nothing at this point. I dug up a couple of pics of the inside of the doors for reference.

Red doors are Early 70-72 and will NOT interchange. 74 door glass is scissor only

Thanks, Mark. That's disappointing news as I have 74 doors with good glass. My car is a 73 but it's number 662 so is a very early car where they were using up the 72 parts.

Paint and swap, 74 doors work better and have protection in my opinion.

Are you asking for a friend?

Hard to say. NOS parts like that are rare. It depends on how much the buyer values them. I am considering replacing the doors on my 914-6 with the 73 no bars doors. I have one very good one and one with two big dents.

I would think $500 each would be a fair price. Good used doors bring $200 ish.
