Hey everyone,
First time 914 owner,, my first post. For the last few months I have been going through the car bit by bit, hose by hose, line by line, seal by seal, etc. Making it a good, almost daily driver. I'm finally getting to a point to do some fun upgrades, and as you all know there are little to no options for an out of the box exhaust upgrade for 75-76 models because of the emission controls and the lame heater exchangers. Without replacing the heat exchangers, which were not in my budget. Searching the forums on here and google. I took a drawing down to my local muffler shop and we came up with this. Dual in and Dual out Magnaflow x-pipe. It be painting them shortly and I'll take some better photos, but I picked up it today and came straight to work. Sound is AMAZING! Its no quiet, but just a hair above ideal for older to middle aged LOL but definitely the sound i was looking for. $650 out the door. Looks better and sounds WAY better than the bulky Bursch I had on it. Thanks everyone who shares their wealth of knowledge on here. It is greatly appreciated. |

I had my Bursh exhaust ceramic coated in a dark gray. Still looks good after 5 years.

This is from 2011. The internal baffles will blow out over time and then the exhaust sounds REALLY good. Ohhh that looks slick! But sitting down very low? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/screwy.gif) |

****ALSO**** Can I get a pole and some photo examples of what color to paint the exhaust Well I have tried them all and less than happy with performance till I found Rust-oleum high heat (2000F ) flat silver ,really good product and on my 911 muffler it has lasted over 9 months and repeated heat cycles . Cheers. |

Can't see a support bracket, hope you have one installed or the whole works hangs off the 4 exhaust port studs, a sure fatigue failure. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) Otherwise looks like a good solution. Barefoot |

Love the exhaust work, it looks great. I may want to do the same thing, my Bursch is elderly. I do second Barefoot also, another support at the muffler is a must unless there is one that we can't see.
Altogether one of the best exhaust solutions I have seen, thanks. |

No lower than the headers and has never been an issue. Not at all too low. There just isn't a valence so it looks lower. Zach |

Barefoot (IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) Especially with a late exhaust, the muffler bracket is absolutely critical. Without it you WILL break exhaust studs, and that is a huge problem. Zach |
