I have a set of factory 914-6 heat exchangers that I will not be using.
One of the boxes has a section that is rusted out and a fair amount of pinholing. The other one has pinholes that can be seen. Are these repairable? What might be a fair price to sell them for to someone looking for original H/Es? |

Yes repairable. I have a set with pin holed areas that Ben quoted at $400-$600 To repair. Another repaired set sold but took a long time to sell. I think the adking price was $1600.
First clean up those burnt oil deposits and get the shells blasted. You may have more holes than you see now. I did. I would be concerned about the pipes. Pressure test them before repairing the shells. Most buyers want really nice looking parts when spe ding big bucks. I have two pairs needing similar repairs. I bought one pair for $600 that I thought was a bargain. I will be selling them either repaired or as is because a got a pair of modified 996 exchangers that flow better for my 2.7. |
