Hey all,

After about 10 years without a teener I finally am back to the madness: I took delivery of a `73 2.0 yesterday morning and got an assessment of it. overall I have to say its in decent shape. most of the rust I found is on the hood and decklid from stuff being stacked on it and a bit in the rear trunk pan. Its all still there and most of it still works thankfully but ive got a hell of a mountain to climb now (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer3.gif)

I know for a fact that I am the 4th owner. The car was bought in boxes in the early 90s from the original owner in Hemet, CA (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon8.gif) and rebuilt by a buddies dad then was shipped out to Houston for the last 15 years before finally landing on the west coast. Still have every bit of documentation to prove it too!

Point of the thread is this: standby for dumb questions because I remember most of this shit but Ill need a refresher from time to time. maybe one day I can finally have a pretty 914 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/av-943.gif)

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/welcome.png) Welcome back. As you already know, great model year to buy and it sounds like a great car to begin with. Enjoy the journey. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Congrats! Looks like a good starting point.

And I understand how 914 fever never goes away. I had about 20 years before I relapsed.

If it's been several years since she ran, you might consider pulling the fuel tank, flush or change the fuel lines. Same with the brakes

Glad you’re back. Good luck on the new project. BTW, that bumper would look great in white. But that’s just me, I don’t like black bumpers. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Just remember mice love to crawl up under the engine tin and build nests. You may want to drop the engine and pull the tin just to be safe.
