I did call George. He said I was the only one to ever complain about the fit. OK, made by these guys: https://www.eurolens.it/pdf/PORSCHE-2023.pdf (page 14) Just north of Milano. I can go visit them and complain... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wavey.gif) |

Yes the rear running lights are on all the time. My LEDs draw very little current in running light mode (0.3W). So with brakes and turnsignals on running lights, the power dissipation is 1.2W, almost nothing. I want all my running lights front and rear on at all times I'm driving. What's neat too is that my foglights come on with just the DRL lights on and is independent (a different mod) from the high beams. About the difference between running and brakes/turnsignals, my LEDs have a huge difference in light output. Some aftermarket LEDs do have a narrow difference between running and bright outputs. OK, thanks. I decided finally that I didn't want the taillights on with the DRL's so today I went ahead and separated them out. Again completely reversible with a couple of extra connectors, which is important here if the inspection rejects the idea of using the front position lamps as DRLs. Now for the last thing - The front park lamps now work as ignition-on DRL's but have been unhooked from the light switch, so they no longer go on with the first position if the key is off. The taillights still do go on. I was wondering if I should attempt the best of both worlds... that they also go on with the first position of the light switch. For that I guess I would need a diode on +12V ignition-on feed to the DRL's plus another diode on the feed from fuse 5 or 6 to the DRLs. Not too hard to do I guess, I'll put it on my list of "future projects". |
