While my search for a shop to do the head work continues, and with some of the prices I've seen floating around for the work, I wanted to get folks opinion on the 2.0 heads that Stoddard sells:

I haven't found much feedback on these - good or bad. Does anyone have experience with them, or heard any stories?

It depends on what you're doing with them. We have some AMC (similar to the ones in your link) heads on a street 2056 with no complaints. IIRC we did swap out some components (Crower springs and retainers) and lapped the valves, etc. However, those heads are maybe 6 or 7+ years old. Some builders used to disassemble the Chinese and/or AMC heads and throw away everything, then rebuild with better parts. Don't know the current quality of AMC heads.

We just put together a set of heads for a large Type IV with some bare 2 liter heads from AA Performance. This allowed us to pick valve sizes, type of valves, the valve cuts, modify them for beehive springs, etc., etc. Bottom line is what do you want? A replacement for stock heads or a mild to wild pair of custom heads?

Right now I'm just looking for a replacement stock head. I plan to do a displacement increase in the future, but nothing too wild - probably 2056 or 2.2.
