Center locks are definitely cool but they aren't going on this car. My goal is a fun driving car that can keep up with other similar cars. Good brakes and suspension, a strong engine built on a 3.2 car and a 915 trans with custom gears. Heat and air.
Peter Dawe told me to my face that a transmission with properly selected gears for the engine hp, revs, tire size and driving style, is the best performance mod that you can make on a car. So both my 67 and the 914 will have custom gears. We built a midyear 911 with a 3.4 and custom gears on the trans. The transmission completely complimented the engine and the car. It was one of my favorite driving experiences. |

@9146GUY love those Porsche Race dept. c/l's !! When I was working with my buds over at Wheel Enhancement...they came by the shop and took measurements for the Forgelines>> offset, dia., width, fender clearance, full lock steering rub, etc. Almost a one and done service ¡ Dave Martin told me that Porsche since first using their c/l's up through modern days now; dozens of different sizes and styles.
I decided on ForgeLine, as working with Dave + Forgeline was quick and correct (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Mark @mepstein I dig what you are saying on your engine, and I rock a short stroke 930 style engine in the Twin ¡¡ (IMG:style_emoticons/default/marty914.jpg) |
