The alternator solution on my 914 race car, which runs 20-30 minute sprint races, is to remove it entirely.

And the solution on my MR2 race car, which runs 30-45 minute sprint races but has EFI and needs a stable battery voltage, is also to remove it entirely and feed the system through this:
