"Hey, the alternator belt broke..."
"Gawdangit...!" The alternator solution on my 914 race car, which runs 20-30 minute sprint races, is to remove it entirely. And the solution on my MR2 race car, which runs 30-45 minute sprint races but has EFI and needs a stable battery voltage, is also to remove it entirely and feed the system through this: https://raceenergyperformance.com/collectio...products/tdc-30 My answer is never "make it more difficult to service"... |

Take two flat /4 1.7L engines, cut the cases and weld them together, weld the cranks together and voila, you have an air-cooled 3.4L flat /8 that still mates to the stock transmission. w00t.gif https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yehk6pdJCKM Not exactly the same but...man does that sound good! |
