What is going on with those stiffeners and the tubes? Are they temporary while you repair something else or are those permanent? I joined this thread a bit late and Im completely confused as to what's happening to this poor car. Is this still part of the revenge? Im so confused.

I don't want you confused.
It is a fun car that I am bringing back to life. Doing it my way since my painter is now backed up for over a year.
I have other cars that might be up to your standards. (Your blue 914 looks great.)
Lucky for them they are mostly original. Sitting or on lifts - 64 C2 frame off including a new frame to match one you showed in your garage (again by me), 60 Austin Healey frame off (again by me), 85 1/2 SVO Mustang all original CA car, 68 Dodge Dart frame off for a Unibody Mopar (again by me). In a tribute to you California guys. A tube chassis Meyers Manx (by Berrin) that received a great comment by Bruce Meyers when he was with us on one of several East Coast OBX events.

The plan is beat on this poor car once it is done. I wanted a stiff chassis and more side protection. I replaced all the rust on a rust free car.
Replace and rebuild the front and rear suspension. All the parts are in.
Then decide what direction on the motor.
Love to see what you started with or what work you did at home. Feel free to add.
