From "please come haul it off" to 100K+

Depends on everything...

Applies to almost ANY car 50+ years old...

Nice driver 10-30K

Museum pieces start at 30.

Running beater under 10.

I've seen a nicely done 4cylinder car with a 964 drivetrain clear 170K an BAT.

Thank you for that, what i am really intrested in is if a car was sold for 28k 4 years ago and that car has been maintained, has the price expectation reamined about the same, fallen or perhaps gone up just a bit ?

Depends on how well that car was bought 4 years ago.

My suggestion is to post detailed pics/description here and let the gurus pick it apart.

They will probably find both bad and good that you were not aware of.

You will get an answer as to what 914 enthusiasts think about your car and there is a tiny chance you will find a buyer if that is what you are contemplating.

A "loaded to the gills 2.0" in excellent shape will be worth substantially more than a base 1.7.

Color is important too, Have a silver car like my 31K 75 1.8L and it's one of the least desirable.

EVERYTHING MATTERS but only the "everything" that represents your car.

You bought at the start of the pandemic; prices were rising fast and they have come down since.

Show us your stuff! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ninja.gif)

IMHO Silver is one of the best 914 colors...eye of the beholder.

I'm FINE with it too!
All the great ones were!

Sadly, the car world doesn't give a rat's ass about my or your opinion, so it doesn't help the value! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

“Depends on how well that car was bought 4 years ago.“

Exactly.

Look at a bunch of recently sold cars on eBay, BAT and World that are similar to your car and you will have a good idea what yours will sell for.

For sale = dreams
Sold = reality

This. This right here.

If you are brave, you could post more info and see what the collective thinks. Everyone here will be a whole lot more civilized than the shark tank comments section over on BAT.

Not very many standard/run of the mill 914s have gone for 28k+ on bat in the past 6 months. There have been 3 or 4 that were standout 'original' or one owner cars that brought good money. Motor swapped 6cyl cars bring the big money (enough to recoup the cost of the swap?... maybe.)

Have a look Have a look at the 'scatter plot' of cars sold. Each individual black dot is a sold car, mouse over the dots above 25k and closer to 30k, compare your car to those and you should get an idea... if you sold on BAT and found the right number of bidders. (crap shoot these days)

28k for a 73, 2.0 -- My opinion, with little research, it would have to be a pretty clean and special car.

For what it's worth, I think silver is a fine color for a 914.
