Your place. Best ever! I can help if you want.

Thanks so much @worn (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Best ever. I mean that, not that they haven’t all been great. I still think Forks WA to be ideal. Charter salmon fishing and rain. Even in summer, but not so much. South coastal Oregon sounds better and better, but I still like the peninsula.

Washington. @panelbilly

I try do do an event every year. Most recently we hosted a breakfast with Eric Shea (over the internet). I just don't see the SoCal folks driving all the way up here. Southern Oregon has some fun roads and that would be my preference. I'm glad to help.

If it ends up near Petaluma, I'll host an afternoon/evening dinner and open house At The Red Barn. Lots of silly stuff underway that folks might enjoy.

Are those really the roads that you want to drive in a 914, or would you like to run from Sonoma over to Bodega, then turn south and find a twisty way south to Monterey? I'm sure Chris has a better detailed explanation of my ideas because the roads around Petaluma are beautiful!

I'm likely in, regardless of where it is held. If it's going to come together, I'd like to get it on my calendar.

The Red Rock Classic it seems has a planned date of around 9/14 every year.

Not so for the West Coast Ramble (WCR). While we look forward to the WCR every year, not knowing when or if it will happen really negatively affects our ability to plan and participate.

Can we put it down for the first weekend in June every year? This would focus planning on picking a location and working out logistics with whoever volunteers to help host the event.

Our pick is Petaluma, CA which is somewhat more centralized along the west coast so folks from California to Washington have a good opportunity to participate if they want to.

So, again. Can we set the WCR for the first weekend (Thursday to Sunday) in June every year from now on? What do you say?

How about when (not where)??

Can we set the WCR for the first weekend (Thursday to Sunday) in June every year from now on?

What do you say?

Maybe a different normal date is better?

No.

Because you never know what other events are planned at that particular place that weekend. Can make rooms pricey or unavailable. Also road closures and stuff. Lots of puzzle pieces to fit.

Sometime in June is fine for most of us.

That being said, this year is getting kinda late for those that need to apply for vacation time...

If one group were putting it on every year a regular date could be set.
Having help put it on last year 3 months planning is not enough time to do it comfortably.
So far no one has stepped up to take it on.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) ...and also not reasonable given that it is an all volunteer event.
Whoever takes charge gets to be in charge of the venue and calendar.

OK, we hear you.

However, somehow it seems Okteenerfest gets put on every year with all volunteers and on or around 9/14/xx. If the date is settled, that would take one big element of debate out of the planning mix for future WCRs.

Maybe those who are involved with Okteenerfest could share their "secrets to success", so the west coast 914world.com members can incorporate them into planning WCRs?

MEDFORD, OR for WRC2026 may be our best option.

I'm in depending on dates.
And can help from afar.

ANYONE??? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/bye1.gif)
