How can I set up a temporary oil pressure gauge and still have the idiot light work.
I think I would need to remove the oil pressure switch put in an adapter into the oil pressure port with a tee fitting for the gauge and the switch. What size fitting would i need to go into the case? Any suggestions on where i can buy? |

The case is 1.0 thread I believe by size 10
Also a grease gun takes what is essentially the same size. I believe it might be sae/American but it’s a size that is so similar to 10 x1.0 that it works and seals Be careful with (especially brass) hard fittings that will work hardened from vibration and crack eventually The hose is flexible and takes vibration The hard fittings vibrate and there is no flex to absorb the vibration What you ideally need is a dual pole sender switch that can riun both a gauge and light without trying to poorly engineer two switches in and add weight to a rigid design of plumbing VDO sells those dual pole senders. Just verify your sender specs before you buy |

For the flexible hose, you can use a 928 brake line - it has the correct M10x1 fittings on both ends. You will need to use a copper seal with it. I have the dual-pole sensor, and replaced the 1/8" NPT brass extension that the PO installed with this brake line, which I was able to fully thread it into the case unlike the 1/8" NPT fitting.

I still don't like rubber lines in my pressurized oil plumbing system.
I do have the VDO dual sender, with pressure plus feed for idiot light. But I did have to get used to a lower PSI trigger for the light. |
