Just came across Magnus Walker's RM Sotheby's upcoming auctions that includes "Porsche Type 901/38 Engine for 914/6" case number 6404135 that is offered without a reserve.

Enjoy,

Ken

It would be nice to see that engine reunited with the correct car. If it was 4371 I would bit on it. Really that's the only real value for a small displacement 6 engine. I bet someone bids crazy money for that thing thinking they can resell it for thousands.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) It will be fun to watch and see what happens (with other people’s money)

Call me weird Rick but that is my dream engine. Displacement is great, lots of grunt but in a little car like this, I'd rather hear it sing. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Nothing wrong with a built 2.0 but don’t pay extra for a 914-6 engine case, on a conversion car, when it’s just a 911T engine with a different model number.

2.0 case turned into a 2.5 289 hp on Peter Dawe’s very conservative dyno. Spins to 8k on the track.

Sing with good power safely to 7750 rpm with (Randy's) Aasco valve springs and a well built engine, agreed !

The 914/6 case (like a 2.0 mag 911T case)
Would be the weakest one to use for a high out put larger motor
It’s only good trait is that it could be used to make a numbers matching car
