I have 14" Fuchs on my 914 now and had been considering stepping up to 15 x 6 (front) and 15x7 (rear) maxilites with the RSR finish. I was about to pull the trigger and stumbled upon some date matched (9/72) 15x6 Fuchs wheels.

I packed them up on Saturday and sent them off to be restored to the original black and properly anodized finish.

Nothing crazy, they need some love, just your standard run of the mill 15x6 'flat 6' / 3 prong caps.

Now Im having second thoughts. Going with the 15x6s with standard finish is going to be no different than my existing 14s, except I can find better tires.

I guess I will decide what to do when I get the wheels back. Alternatively I could have these done in the RSR finish.

Do any of you have 15x6 (flat 6) done in the RSR look/finish done by fuchsrestoration.com?
Do any of you have the deep6 maxilites in RSR finish?

I believe Eric Shea (PBM) has done some builds using the 15 x 7 RSR Maxilite in the back on narrow bodies. Their offset doesn't require any mods or slightly (?) to the wheel arch. These would be deep six look.

Looking forward to seeing more info on this too. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/popcorn[1].gif)

Don’t count on 7’s to fit the back. They might, but usually don’t. Especially with any reasonably sized tire.
If you are willing to pull and/or roll your fenders, then they may fit ok.
