I removed my engine using a harbor freight table and a four post lift like yours. It was easy. I took the headers off before removal. Everything else stayed on the engine. Unhooked all electric and oil lines. Removed trans and engine bolts. Jacked up the engine a bit to check clearance. Then raised the car on the four post lift. Bent the engine tin a little but not a big thing.

I have used a similar setup, but a shop made rolling work table and a HF scissors lift. Works great for either a /4 or a /6

The engine and transaxle are installed. Thanks for the inputs from this thread and folks I spoke to offline.

We did it with 2 people and 3 floor jacks. Only lifting the rear. Stub axles attached. Engine tin installed, but loose.

I couldn't find videos of anyone doing it this way, so I made a brief one and posted to YouTube. I wouldn't recommend this approach if you have other options, but it can be done without damage or injury. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_pokal.gif)
