I pulled the old original fuel lines and bent up some replacements and got those installed.

This is clearly much more than a "quick refresh". Kudos for sure. i find this to be a very interesting thread to follow. While I love the many perfect car restorations, it's refreshing to see one being saved at more of a fundamental level. As a side, you might want to seek out some professional help, as you just might have a problem.. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

The front areas of this car are pretty nice.. I cleaned up a couple of surface rust areas, primed and top coated them for good measure. One of the few I've come across that's never had the frunk floor cut away for A/C.

ps - you'll notice, I've got new rubber fuel hoses in place at the under-tank area.

I'd planned to do an internal cleaning of the fuel tank but after pulling it and having a good look inside, I don't think that's gonna be necessary. There was no loose particles that I can tell and only very minor surface rust. I'll keep an eye on my filter after we're up and running. I scuffed the outside and gave it some fresh paint.

Those internal screens are so useless! I destroyed 2 trying to install, and a filter on the outside is a much better protection, and easily changed when needed without having to drain the tank. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/bootyshake.gif)

I hear ya, I'd probably skip it if it was a tank that had been used continually for some time up until now. But since the car has sat for several years and I'm hoping there's only minimal crud hiding in the tank - it feels like a safe addition. Of course I'll have a regular filter before the pump too.

As mentioned earlier someone had altered the fuse panel to accept modern fuses. It wasn’t done very well and I decided to revert back to a stock set up rather than try to figure out what was done

Grabbed a spare OEM fuse holder and reinstalled it.

The real problem was the unorganized nest of wiring behind the panel. I set about figuring it all out and getting the wiring spade ends reverted back to the standard configuration.

There were many issues, particularly with the light switch wiring .. as well as missing Fresh Air box wiring, “fasten seat belt” harness and the complete wiring that goes to the doors. I finally got it all sorted though, and re-taped.

Now we have this at both sides. Hopefully I can get the backpad interior light to work too.

I tested the original speedo cable and it was not spinning the needle, after a little investigation I noticed that the end had separated from the casing. I pulled a replacement and got it installed.

Speedometer cable installed. Note in this pic, there seems to be wiring for an appearance group center console on this car .... and a reinforcement repair made to the Clutch Cable Tube.

Then I moved to the wiring for the brake warning switch that had been severed.
