I removed the two bolts holding the latch to the back panel, leaving the latch attached to the closing pin. My lid stays closed and aligned, but not secured. It’s never opened while driving, and only the jack is ever in left in the trunk anyway.

Porsche rear "Ghost" letters from the '84>'89 Carrera /930 Turbo days...reads well when light shines on it; Solenoid and back up pull wire in engine bay.
